Our role in the community is to facilitate the creation of programs that connect community members with resources to further their interest and engagement in arts, wellness, culture, and more simply investing in our neighbors. A few examples of these programs are: literature workshops with published authors, Poetry Slam competitions, music lessons for all ages, oral history projects, and local artist showcases.
We are excited to share in this journey of learning through and with Bird Islanders! We intend that each program or activity or event we sponsor or hold builds on this mission by beginning and deepening our relationship with our community and by supporting cultural opportunities in an entirely new way by taking an active role to set the table and create a welcoming platform for local engagement.
